The Club at The Leela Hotel in Goa, India, Now Open
Goa, India (PRWeb) January 25, 2007 -- The Club at The Leela Palace in Goa, one of the most beautiful beach resorts not only in India but in the entire world, opened in December 2006. The Club at The Leela Palace brings a new style and exclusivity to the five-star resort on the southwest coast of India, a walled palatial haven on 75 landscaped tropical gardens.
The Club at The Leela Palace is situated in an enclave adjacent to the main resort property, and features 15 one-bedroom suites, six with a private plunge pool. Painstaking attention to design detail ensures the highest possible comfort for guests. Each suite provides a spacious living room and bedroom, with lifestyle interior design creating an open environment. A 25 meter swimming pool and separate beach area, as well as personal butler service for each suite, make The Club truly deluxe.
Luxurious furniture and fittings were designed exclusively for The Club by Jaya Ibrahim. Amenities in each suite include a Jura Espresso Machine, Bose CD player, LCD and flat screen television, cable programming and a DVD player. A full mini-bar and Club beverages, breakfast in the suite or at The Club lounge, afternoon tea and snacks, evening cocktails, plus daily dry cleaning and laundry service and two-way airport transfers are all provided without charge.
Special Winter Offer
Guests can take advantage of a special offer from The Club at Leela Palace. With this offer, a suite at The Club costs $392 USD per night, while a Club pool suite costs $536 USD. Rates are inclusive of taxes and are based on double occupancy on a per room per night basis. Extra charges apply for additional guests. Published rates are subject to change without prior notice.
The main resort building, known locally as the Leela Palace, is a stunning marble palace based on a 13th century Vigayanagara Palace. The 152 rooms and suites that surround sleepy lagoons and islands are inspired by the 18th century Portuguese architecture prevalent in the area. The Palace is replete with antique statues and artwork -- an art lover's dream come true. The entire resort is mosquito free, thanks to a non-obtrusive spraying system used at dusk. Rates at the Leela resort range from $350 to $3,500 for a Presidential Suite, where Bill Clinton recently stayed.
The Leela Palace also features an enormous swimming pool with dramatic waterfall. The pool is surrounded by lounges, where guests can relax and have a cocktail and later watch the sun set over the blue-green water of the Arabian Sea.
In addition to a 12-hole pitch and putt golf course, resort guests can indulge in any of 13 treatments at Leela Palace's spa. Spa treatments include both Ayurvedic and traditional. The Sirodhara is also offered, where warm medicated oil is dripped in a steady stream on the forehead, said to open the "third eye." Others may enjoy a traditional massage including the "Leela," which is an utterly divine experience, leaving you stimulated and rejuvenated. Yoga is offered in pavilions near the rooms, as well as meditation and pranayama.
The Leela Palace also offers a range of water sports, from dolphin cruises to jet skis to parasailing. A sunset cruise takes guests to an active fishing village along the River Sal.
The resort's five restaurants offer a wide variety of cuisines. Jamavar offers classic Indian food, while Riverside is a contemporary Italian restaurant with picturesque views.
Getting to The Leela Goa is easy. An airport located about 30 miles from The Leela provides service by international carriers. Another alternative is to fly into Bangalore and overnight at the Leela there (www.theleela.com/bangalore), a deluxe city hotel with a distinctly royal feel and all the amenities one could desire. Then a two-hour drive away is Mysore, a microcosm of everything wonderful about an Indian city -- cows in the street, lively and colorful markets, fabulous silk and tapestry shops. The Windflower is the place to stay in Mysore, just a few minutes rickshaw drive from the city. Guests can fly from Mysore to Goa and off to the Leela they go.
