Over the past ten years the company has expanded considerably and online Brazil tours look set to be at the forefront of many more successful future ventures. So how did CAT begin? Well, it all started years ago when founder Bart de Graaf - after having trekked through some of Ecuador's innermost jungle - first dreamt up the idea of opening a travel company. He returned to Holland where he and co-founder Karin Deen began to develop the foundations of what would one day become Class Adventure Travel. Against the advice of many - the couple decided to officially start CAT in Peru as it was the Latin American country with the most potential at that time. The first office was opened in 1997 in Miraflores, Lima. After the company's successful inception, the founders watched CAT grow from a small scale Peruvian operation to a large scale Latin American Enterprise. The success of the Lima office led to the opening of a second Peruvian office in Cusco in 2000 which would help with the growing number of clientele traveling to the ancient heart of the Inca Empire - and of course to Machu Picchu. After having firmly established themselves as one of the most important incoming tour operators in Peru it was time to look outwards.

The Brazilian office in Sao Paolo opened in 2004, and later in the same year the CAT headquarters for Argentina and Chile opened in Buenos Aires. Following this venture CAT formed alliances with a number of affiliate travel groups in other Latin American countries - and it wasn't long before the company was able to offer tours across the continent. While always having had a website, it was at this point that CAT decided to further develop their online sales department and a new website was created. The new website gave the company a better look and feel, gave the client more freedom and options than they had had received anywhere else previously, and moved CAT clearly into the lead in the field of online Latin American travel. Mirroring CAT's history, their online sales platform primarily offered Peru tours before branching outwards across the continent. Now after ten years - the company looks set to make an impression in the international tourist market with their new tours to Brazil.
