ADMET Offers UTM Accessories - Extended Travel Extensometer and Environmental Chambers

Norwood, Mass. (PRWEB) November 27, 2007 -- ADMET Inc., a provider of integrated materials testing systems, supplies a full range of Universal Testing Machines (UTMs) and accessories, including specialty extensometers and environmental chambers for testing specimens under controlled conditions. The company today announced new additions to its extensive accessories catalog.

Among the new accessories, ADMET now offers a long stroke extensometer for plastics and rubber testing which is compatible with all of ADMET's digital controllers and electromechanical testing machines. The E-900CT balanced extensometer features 900mm (35.4") travel with adjustable gage lengths between 20mm and 80mm (0.79" to 3.15") that accommodates specimen thicknesses of 0.2mm to 4.0mm (0.008" to 0.16") with a resolution of 0.0254mm (0.001").

Furnaces and environmental chambers

ADMET is also offering a number of furnaces and environment chambers for use with its test frames. The stainless steel-lined furnace F-200CT is compatible with ADMET's eXpert 26xx twin-screw electromechanical test frames and offers drying, baking and pre-heating of specimens up to 200C (418F). The 220 Volt electric heater is accurate to ±0.3C (0.5F) and includes a manual air recirculation control and minute/hour timer. The unit is on rails so it can slide out of the way when not in use.

ADMET is also offering two environmental chambers (one for use with its single-column UTMs and one for its dual-column machines). Both feature a Liquid Nitrogen (LN2) injector and 220 Volt heating elements with temperature regulation to within ±0.1C (0.2F). The controllers are rack mountable with 12' cables. Heated viewports are standard on both models.

The single-column chamber (F-2505T) can be used with ADMET's eXpert 560x and eXpert 760x lines of UTMs. Minimum inside dimensions are 550mm X 140mm X 140mm (21.7" X 5.5" X 5.5") with a temperature range from -70C to 250C (-94F to 480F).

The dual-column unit (F-280DT) is compatible with ADMET eXpert 26xx and Express UTM frames. Its minimum inside dimensions are 220mm x 220mm x 580mm (8.7" x 8.7" x 22.8") with a temperature range from -80C to 280C (-112F to 536F). An optional 350C (662F) heater is available. A slide mount comes standard.

Additional information and pricing on ADMET's grips, fixtures, extensometers, furnaces and environmental chambers is available by contacting the company at 781-769-0850 or sales@admet.com. These and other accessories are available immediately directly from ADMET and through ADMET representatives.
