Once you are at your destination on the golf course and ready to play the course you have chosen, do not jump right in and start golfing. Take time to get a feel for the course and stretch properly. It is always good to go on a tour with like-minded friends who share your love of golf but make sure every one is in agreement with regards to cost and location. As a general rule when planning the trip, consider the courses first and the accommodations next. You should also consider everyone's playing abilities when you pick the course. An advanced golfer will enjoy a more challenging course while someone less skilled might just become frustrated, lose his temper and spoil the holiday for all concerned. Some resorts are very expensive, but since golf is the main focus of your trip, decide where to play first and then where to stay.

If you are on a limited budget you may consider spending the first day or two at a resort to gain access to their course and then move to a less expensive hotel later. It may be an inconvenience, but can be well worth it in order to play the top courses while not spending the entire holiday at the expensive resort.
